A Day in the Life of a Mom of Three

April 8, 2022

A day in the life of a mom of three | lets be game changers lets be game changers

It’s hard to convey how difficult it is to be a mother of three, but I’m going to try—and then give you some advice on how to relax when you have the time!

Part of what makes being a mother to multiple children so taxing is that each kid has their own specific needs, and it can be a task to keep track of them all. It’s even tougher when they all have individual tastes and interests!

This isn’t to say that I don’t adore my kids—nobody loves their children more than I do! —but over the years, I’ve experienced a lot of stress that has gradually taken a mental and physical toll. This is why, recently, I’ve carved out time to treat myself when I need a little pick-me-up. It’s not worth being Supermom if you can’t even see straight at the end of the day!

Sports & School Schedules Exhaust Me

Each of my kids is into a different sport, which means that I not only have to get them to their practices on time but need to make sure that they have all of their necessary equipment! Of course, sports are incredibly important for their social and physical development, so I would never deprive them of the opportunity, but I wish that there were fewer practices each week. Keeping up with baseball, soccer, and tennis is no simple feat!

School is another matter altogether. I have to wake up early—usually earlier than they do—to check that they have their bags ready, and lunches prepare. Then, there’s the unbearable traffic to and from school, and the homework at the end of the day that sometimes becomes mine! If this weren’t enough, my children all belong to extracurricular clubs: one is in a band, one is on the chess team, and one is always rehearsing for her next musical. Oy vey!

Too Much Shopping & Cooking

I love to shop—what woman doesn’t? But having to buy for an entire family can take the fun out of things; it’s not only draining, but extremely expensive. Things can get even more costly if you choose to buy ingredients for home-cooked meals. Seeing those triple digits on the supermarket register is demoralizing, to say the least, but I want my kids to eat and dress well!

On the bright side, my children are old enough not to waste their food. In fact, they devour just about everything I make!

I Like to Unwind with Spa Treatments

With so much going on, I’ve had to find ways to stay positive. One of my guilty pleasures (besides a bit of Sauvignon Blanc when the kids are gone!) is the spa. It offers so many relaxing treatments and helps me rediscover my center, and it’s also great at relieving tension in my neck and back. The spa also does mani-pedis, which have kept me looking especially fresh. The best part is that I don’t have to go too often to feel better—once a month is plenty!

Aside from the spa, I also love to go to yoga and meditation classes. They have helped me find my inner Zen, and I couldn’t be more thankful to have the opportunity to take part in them!

Keeping Up My Rejuvenation Routine

Lastly, I’ve been keeping up with a facial rejuvenation routine that makes me feel good and look even better. I may have kids, but I don’t look my age!

For some people, facial rejuvenation is as simple as using a good moisturizer or exfoliator before bed. For me, though, it’s a rather complex skincare routine and an occasional Botox injection. When it comes down to it, facial rejuvenation includes anything that keeps you looking youthful — even a facelift!

It’s important to be consistent with your chosen facial rejuvenation routine, especially because it can motivate you when you look in the mirror and see a smooth, beautiful face staring back. In short, the key is to follow a regimen that serves your personal needs; all it takes is a little thought and a good amount of TLC!
